TOP TEN TIPS FOR HOME FITNESS!

SO, gyms have reopened though I’m still training at home. Funnily enough I was finding it tricky to bend my schedule around a gym timetable. It flows for now, but I’m sure one day I’ll be back training with a group.

Maybe you're on school holidays with the crew and you need to train at home now too?

I’ve reignited my energy/motivation for getting it done at home. I’ll be honest, my motivation for solo sessions in the driveway was literally negative 3000%. I was SO over it! ⠀⠀

I lurve group training, but it doesn’t fit with my current life, so I’m gonna stick it out at home for a while! ⠀

Here’s what’s been working for me lately;

  • Have a program. Cannot tell you how imperative this is. My program is from @triarchfitness. This takes the ‘thinking’ out of the equation.

  • Don’t think just do - when you overthink things they become really hard!

  • Learn to ignore the distractions (laundry/plaster dust/children)

  • Pick a time when the kids are likely to be happy and independent for a short while (snacks etc)

  • Dress for success. I love my @activetruth - suitable for the training, school pick up and everything in between

  • Have a natural fitness support crew; motivate blend - as the name suggests

Ice blue - muscular support

Oregano - immune support

Lavender - sleep

In tune - focus (pre workout)

Peppermint oil and/or beadlet (pre workout: clears the airways and oxygenates the blood)

(You can check out my blog post, in Oils Blog for more details on this)

  • Equipment; Don’t need much! I love having a mat that you can roll out easily @cloudandcoco, dumbbells @kmartaus, kettle bell (get a good one - the Kmart ones feel like they’re from Kmart ya know), skipping rope! You can seriously get an amazing workout done with minimal equipment.

  • Download a timing App so you can save your workouts in there! I love the ‘IntervalTimer’ app, and the Trifecta app.

  • Do up a Spotify playlist of your fave workout beats, so you can hit play and just go!

  • Set realistic goals (this looks different for everyone).

  • Be rigid in your goals and flexible in your approach, you've totes got this. ⠀⠀
